On July 28, 2009 something happened in the world of sports which had not occurred in four full years. For the first time since July 2005 American swimming sensation Michael Phelps failed to win a medal event at a major international competition. Michael Phelps lost to 22-year old Paul Biederman (Germany) in the Men’s 200m Freestyle at the World Championships in Rome.
