Overcoming a tough opponent, and yet another garbage call by the officials, the United States national team was set for a draw, and long silent plane ride back to the States. Then... Landon Donovan happened. Now it's on to the Round of 16, and a shot at the FIFA World Cup

FIFA may not be “rigged”, but it is certainly “anti-American”… and for good reason. How embarrassed would you be if the 5th-tier athletes from a country that doesn’t even watch your sport came in and dominated all the time? It would make your quaint little sport look almost… I dunno… like a f***ing joke.

Lets settle this: it's called soccer and it will never be an American sport. No matter how much ESPN tries to hype the World Cup and no matter how much analysts predict that soccer will become a major sport here in the US, it will never happen. Even if ratings explode with the US-England matchup today, that interest will be short-lived.

So the 2010 NFL Draft, which was WAY LONGER than it had to be by the way, is finally over and now it is time to assess the damage. For the most part, I’m of the Gregg Easterbrook School of “This is Just Guessing Anyway”, but I did come away from this draft with some serious convictions.
