American politicians seem to have no solution to the trade problems faced by the United States other than "more free trade". Despite the obvious negative effects, the ones in control simply parrot the same formula over and over again. The mantra of "free trade at all costs" has already cost the American people enough. It is time for Washington to get the message.

The world economy got along fine when China, and its 1.4 billion people, were barely part of it. We don’t need China, China needs us, and it is time our politicians started acting like it.

The EU has a real interest in keeping Greece afloat. Greece, through its membership alone, makes the EU stronger. What reason would the entire world have to save America from itself, particularly if we aren’t even willing to try for ourselves?

I'm concerned that the last trappings of help for the citizens of this country are falling away with little hope in sight. It is clear that we will not get meaningful health care reform. Congress failed to pass the foreclosure relief act sponsored by Senator Durbin (D-IL) and the credit card bill of rights forgot to mention the 30% interest charged by credit card companies.
